India played its first Day-Night Test on 22nd November 2019 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The second Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata will be a day-night affair and with a pink ball rather than red for better visibility.
This is both India and Bangladesh's first Day-Night Test.
Day-night Tests, aimed at increasing crowds and TV audiences for the five-day games, were sucessfully introduced in 2010.
On 30th October, 2012, the ICC cleared test cricket to be played under lights.
First D/N Test was played from 27th Nov to 1st Dec 2015 between Australia and New Zealand at Adeliade Oval with Australia winning by 3 wickets.
This is also the first Pink Ball Test for India.
Pink ball is chosen as it helps in more visibility in D/N Test cricket.
India will play its first pink-ball, day-night Test match against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens on Friday (November 22).
India will become the last major cricketing nation to enter the pink ball Test era.
